Configuring your message center settings enables you to filter which types of messages and notifications you receive. You can use this configuration to specify which messages you wish to receive emails and mobile application notifications for.

For example, guardians and students can choose to receive emails for Low Score Notifications and set the threshold to determine at which score they want to start receiving the notifications.

You can also adjust your settings in the My Messages area if you are concerned about the number of emails you are receiving.

Please refer to the information in the appropriate tab below based on which portal you have access to, Family Access, Student Access, or Teacher & Administrative Access.

Welcome to another 60-second power-up. We’re all looking for ways to simplify our lives. Today, we’re going to look at notification preferences, which you can configure to receive real-time updates on your phone about important information like your kids’ grades and missing assignments. From your Family Access home screen, click on the Message Center icon on the top toolbar. Then click on Settings. Here you’ll see a list of all notification options. Select the scenarios you want to be notified about, such as missing assignments or attendance. You can also set a low-grade threshold if you want to be notified when your child’s grades drop below a certain percentage. When you’re finished, click Save Changes. It’s as easy as that! Quick Steps

In Family Access, click the My Messages button.
Click Settings.
Select a tab to update.
Check or uncheck the boxes for each notification type.
Save your changes.

Detailed Instructions

The following steps will be completed in Skyward Qmlativ SIS. If you have access to more than one portal, you may need to click the down arrow next to the home icon and select Family Access from the drop-down menu.

Click the My Messages button in the navigation bar.
- You see the Inbox tab of the My Messages screen, which displays existing messages you have received.
Click Settings near the top right of the Inbox area. You will see the User Message Settings screen. The tab you see depends on the tabs you have security access to.
Select the tab you would like to update from the left-hand menu. The areas you see depend on the setup by your district.
To receive emails and mobile application notifications for messages, check the appropriate boxes in the areas listed below.
- Receive by Email: indicates that you want to receive emails about this topic. These notifications will also be delivered as a message to view in My Messages.
- Receive by Mobile App: indicates that you want to receive push notification through the Skyward moible application about this topic
- If there are addtional settings, you can select the cog icon in the Additional Settings column to configure them.
Choose one of the following options near the top left of the screen to save your work.
- Save & Back: sves your message center settings and you return to the tab you were previously on
- Save Changes: saves your message center settings and you remain on the Guardian Messages tab of the User Message Settings screen
