Within the My Messages area in Family Access and Student Access, you’re able to view notifications and messages sent to you according to how your preferences are set up within the settings. In the top right corner of our screen, we’ll see the My Messages option next to the Envelope icon. Attached to this icon, we’ll see a red indicator for how many unread notifications and messages are in our inbox. Let’s head over to the My Messages option now. Here, we’ll see all the messages in our inbox, which includes new and old messages. New messages will be in bold text while messages that we’ve read will not. We can click any of the messages to view more details. This will pull the message onto the right side of our screen. To view any messages that we’ve sent, we can click on the Sent tab. Any messages that we have deleted can be viewed within the Trash tab. Back on the Inbox tab, we can click into another message. We’ll see that we have the option to mark the message as unread, reply to the message, or delete this message. The Reply option will only be visible if replies have been configured on the message by the sender or originator. If replies are not available on a message, we’ll see No Reply written within the message in our inbox. We can also mass delete messages if we’d like to delete more than one message at a time. Lastly, we can configure our settings and determine if we’d like to subscribe to certain emails as well as message notifications. Now that you know how to view your messages, you can ensure that you won’t miss any important notifications!
Instructions
Inbox Tab
You can click a message or notification under the TODAY, YESTERDAY, or OLDER headings to view additional details, such as the date and who sent it. Messages and notifications are automatically marked as read after you click them. You can click the Mark as Unread or
Delete buttons near the top right of the screen as necessary.

In Family Access, you can also see who or what the message is regarding, if the message is sent to a guardian or a student. For example, if a guardian is sent a message from a teacher, the Regarding line will mention both the student and the class.

If you have a new message that you have not clicked on, the message displays as bold on the Inbox tab of the My Messages screen. Clicking on the message reduces the notification number that displays next to My Messages near the top right of any screen. If you click the Mark as Unread button, the notification number that displays next to My Messages increases.
Delete Messages
You can also choose to
Delete the message or notification if you wish to remove it from your list of messages on the Inbox tab to reduce clutter. These messages or notifications are then archived in the Trash tab. You can move a message or notification back to your inbox if it was deleted in error by clicking the Move to Inbox button.
There is also an option on the My Messages screen to
Mass Delete messages. You could use this option if you have multiple messages you wish to delete simultaneously.
Reply to Messages
If the individual who sent the message checked the box for Allow Replies on the original message, an additional button for Reply displays near the top right of the screen. This enables you to send a response back to the person who sent the message.
Example with Replies Enabled:
Example with Replies Disabled:
Once you click Reply, you can specify the Priority and enter a Reply Message. If you select High for the Priority, the response is marked with the high importance ! indicator for the individual who receives the response.

After the reply message has been sent, a reply indicator displays to the left of the replied-to message. If you do not see the Reply option, this means the message cannot be replied to.
