How to View Absences and Tardies in Skyward Qmlativ SIS

Skyward Qmlativ SIS allows users to view attendance information. The current year attendance information displays each absence or tardy by date and class period. When you open an attendance record, you can view the attendance type, reason, class and comments for the selected record.

Please refer to the information in the appropriate tab below based on which portal you have access to, Family Access, Student Access, Teacher Access or Administrative Access.

Family Access

Attendance information for the current school year is available to parents and guardians in the Attendance tile of Family Access.

Welcome to another 60-Second Power-Up. Let’s take a look at how the Attendance area in Family Access can help you encourage punctuality and fewer missed classes. Click the Attendance tile on your main dashboard. This will pull up a list of every recorded absence or tardy for the current school year, including the total number of days absent, excused/unexcused, and tardy counts. If you’re unsure what these attendance codes mean, click the Legend icon in the top-right corner. For more details, including the class, description, and any comments, click the arrow icon next to the day in question. Remember, poor attendance is not only associated with diminished achievement, it can also be an indicator of other, more concerning behaviors. It’s as easy as that! In Family Access, click the Attendance tile.
Open any attendance records to view more details.

Detailed Instructions

The following steps will be completed in Skyward Qmlativ SIS. If you have access to more than one portal, you may need to click the down arrow next to the home icon and select Family Access from the drop-down menu.

Select the Attendance tile.
- You can select a tile under a specific child's name or under the View All students heading. If you wish to select a different student's information, you can do so by selecting that student's name at the top left of the screen.
- You see the Student Attendance screen, which displays any absences or tardies recorded for the student and the date they were recorded for the current year.
- For an explanation of the icons and codes used on this screen, click the Legend button in the upper right corner. The codes used for attendance types and attendance reasons may vary between different campuses your students attend.
- If any attendance records are not displayed, click the More button at the bottom of the list to expand more rows.
Click the open icon to the left of an attendance record you would like to view more details about.
- You see the Student Attendance Details screen, which displays the date attendance was recorded, any comments regarding the attendance record, as well as the period, attendance type, attendance reason, class, office comment and teacher comment.
